What is the white powder that has built up on the post of my battery?

Corrosion on the battery terminals is caused by electrolytes that have leaked from the battery and it has crystallised when it has met the air. To remove the corrosion form the battery use boiling water with bicarb soda and a wire brush. Put some bicarb soda in the boiling water and pour over terminals, scrub thoroughly with the wire brush to remove all corrosion.
